Rental Equipment
The district has the following conservation equipment available for rent:
To rent the equipment, a current lease agreement must be on file at the office.
No-Till Drill Charge: Minimum charge of $90 for 10 acres or less. An additional $9/acre will be charged for each additional acre. There is an $8/acre charge if planting 50 acres or more.
- 1996 John Deere 10 ft. no-till drill. This drill is housed at Raineri Transmission at 803 S. 6th St. (Highway EE South) Owensville. This drill will only do large grain/seed. You will need at least an 80 to 100 horse tractor. To schedule the John Deere, please call 573-437-3478, ext 3.
- 2006 Great Plains 7 ft. no-till drill. This drill is housed at the USDA Service Center on Highway 19 South, Owensville. This drill has a large grain box, small seed box and a warm season grass box. You need at least a 45 to 50 horse tractor for this drill. To schedule the Great Plains, please call 573-437-3478, ext 3.
Also located at the soil and water conservation district office:
- Rotowiper - Herbicide applicator - A $200 deposit is required and a $50 a day use charge. A two inch ball hitch is required. This equipment adjusts from 0 to 3 feet high, applying a foam based chemical to the underside of the desired plants. May be pulled with a truck, tractor or ATV.
- ATV Equipment - Seeder, Boom Sprayer and Disk on a trailer. A $100 deposit is required to rent this equipment and a $20 use charge is required for each piece or $50 use charge for all three pieces.
- Burn Equipment includes two torches, one water tank, four rakes, two flappers and one weather kit. A $50 deposit is required and a $10 use charge. We advise that you attend a burn class before attempting a burn.
