Lewis County Soil and Water Conservation District

Assistance Available

Technical assistance is available to all Lewis County Landowners regardless of race, creed, color, sex, age, handicap, marital status or national origin.

SEPT. 2 - OCT. 2, 2008

Sign up for state cost-share funds will begin at 7 a.m. on Sept. 2 and continue until 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, 2008.

All Lewis County Landowners interested in receiving state cost share assistance     need to visit the USDA office in Monticello during the office hours listed above. If the landowner is unable to visit the office during the sign up, the landowner can sign a Landowner Signature Authorization Form DOC giving the farm operator permission to sign up for state cost share assitance.

When visiting the office you need to show the SWCD staff the area on your farm for which you are seeking assistance and discuss practice options to address your conservation needs. Technicians will evaluate all requests and present to the board of supervisors for consideration.

Because funding is limited, the board of supervisors will choose conservation practices that have the greatest resource needs and soil erosion savings using a prioritization sheet developed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources state office.

Lewis SWCD will no longer have a continuous sign up for state cost-share funds.
