INFORMATION EDUCATION
As the 2008-2009 school year approaches, Stone County Soil and Water Conservation District is striving to work with our county schools to provide presentations and information to teach area students about soil and water conservation. This year we are planning to present a soil presentation to the area 4th graders. We are also working toward other educational and informational opportunities such as teaching some of the elementary grades about what lives in our local streams. Conducting field days with the students while providing hands-on demonstrations will aide in their learning experience.
Our goal is to help the students become more aware of the importance of conserving our natural resources.

Our office has an ongoing desire to help area land owners with practices as well as offering other opportunities to educate and interact with land owners to improve land and water usage. We offer "Field Days", "Pasture Walks" and other opportunities from time to time, so the land owners can see how these practices help with their overall forage management.
